Selfreliance FCU was a sponsor of the Ukrainian Music Competition Gala Recital

February 11th, 2024

The Ukrainian Music Competition Gala Recital took place at Weill Recital Hall/Carnegie Hall on January 12, 2024. The Competition was organized by the Young Performers Foundation, together with the Ukrainian National Women's League of America, NJ Regional Council.

The Ukrainian Music Competition was established to celebrate Ukraine's rich musical heritage by encouraging the younger generation to learn and perform music by Ukrainian composers, nurture the musical talents of the young generation, and provide them with a platform to showcase their skills.

The Gala Recital showcased the winners of the Ukrainian Music Competition in support of those fighting to defend the Ukrainian culture and nation. The evening also included performances by renowned musicians - the judges of the competition: violinist Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv; cellist Valeriya Sholokhova; pianist Dr. Michael Bulychev-Okser; violinist Gene Hahn and pianist Dr. Pavel Gintov. The program included piano, string, and vocal music of well-known and contemporary Ukrainian composers. All proceeds went towards the continued advocacy for Ukrainian culture.
