POSITION: Financial Analyst

LOCATION: On-site at the Main Office in Chicago, IL

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

COMPENSATION: $65,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, and organizational decision-making. This role plays a key part in analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and delivering insights that support strategic and operational initiatives.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data, able to communicate findings clearly, and capable of taking ownership of recurring reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; candidates should expect to complete an Excel-based assessment as part of the interview process
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or banking/credit union environment preferred
  • Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, or databases (SQL/BI tools a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in both English and Ukrainian

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial data, trends, and variances and provide clear, actionable insights
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with general ledger analysis, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Partner with internal departments to support financial decision-making
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with financial policies and regulations
  • Support special projects and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed

POSITION: Junior Financial Analyst

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

COMPENSATION: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to support financial reporting and analysis.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop strong analytical skills and gain hands-on experience in financial operations within a collaborative environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft; candidates may be asked to complete a brief Excel assessment as part of the interview process

POSITION: Mortgage Loan Closer

COMPENSATION: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Mortgage Loan Closer to support our mortgage lending operations. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and finalizing loan closing packages, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory and investor guidelines. The Mortgage Loan Closer serves as a key liaison between borrowers, loan officers, title companies, and other third parties to ensure a smooth and timely closing process.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exhibit knowledge in and use the following software: database, internet, spreadsheet, electronic mail, mortgage software, and Word processing
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid proficiency in mathematical concepts
  • The ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of real estate lending, compliance, and federal/state regulations
  • Minimum 1-2 years of mortgage lending experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Fluency in both English and Ukrainian

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and review mortgage loan closing packages
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct pre-closing quality control reviews
  • Review title commitments, insurance binders, settlement statements, and legal documents
  • Act as liaison between all parties
  • Coordinate closing schedules
  • Calculate closing costs
  • Disburse funds and ensure timely closings
  • Finalize loan files
  • Resolve documentation issues and follow up on post-closing deficiencies

POSITION: Collection Specialist (Insurance & Tax Escrow Backup)

LOCATION: On-site at the Main Office in Chicago, IL

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

COMPENSATION: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team at our Main Office in Chicago. This role is responsible for managing delinquent accounts and providing backup support for insurance processing, tax escrow activities, and real estate tax payments. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely collections, maintaining accurate account records, and adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements, while supporting efficient operations and high standards of member service.
The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in financial services, with a focus on problem-solving, account management, and operational support.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in collections, banking, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of debt collection practices and regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor delinquent accounts to ensure timely resolution
  • Contact members via phone, email, and written communication to collect past-due balances

  • Assist with insurance processing, including renewals and updates (backup support)
  • Support tax escrow management and analysis
  • Assist with real estate tax payments and discrepancy resolution

POSITION: Cleaning professional/Maintenance

LOCATION: Main Office - 2332 W. Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622

SCHEDULE: Part-Time (Monday through Friday, approximately 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, up to 20 hours per week)

COMPENSATION: The budgeted amount for the starting hourly rate is $18 per hour

Selfreliance FCU is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time cleaning professional to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our Main Office facility in Chicago. POSITION: Universal Member Service Representative

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

SCHEDULE: Full Time

COMPENSATION: The budgeted amount for the starting hourly rate is $22 per hour, plus eligibility for a monthly incentive program

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Universal Member Service Representative at our Chicago branch.
If you're passionate about helping people and thrive in a customer-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you. In this role, you will be the face of our credit union, assisting members with financial products and services, and helping them find solutions that best fit their needs. This position is eligible for our generous Incentive Program, offering additional earning potential based on performance.

  • Previous customer service and sales experience (banking experience strongly preferred).

This role is essential to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our members, employees, and visitors. The Security Officer serves as a visible security presence and assists in emergency situations. Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a Compliance Support Specialist who will play a vital role in assisting the credit union's compliance department in ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. This position supports daily compliance operations, monitors activities for potential regulatory risk, and provides administrative and reporting support to promote a strong culture of compliance across the credit union.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling data, documents, and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative and professional approach with the ability to work well across departments.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in financial services, banking, or compliance support (preferred but not required).

  • Assist in maintaining and updating compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Research regulatory changes and help communicate updates to relevant departments.
