POSITION: Training & Development Specialist

LOCATION: On-site at the Main Office in Chicago, IL

SCHEDULE: Full Time

COMPENSATION: The budgeted amount for the starting hourly rate is $25.00 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Training & Development Specialist to join our team!
This key role is responsible for building effective training programs, managing employee onboarding, writing clear internal procedures, and acting as a liaison between the IT and Member Services departments - especially during system or technology upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training: design and lead onboarding and ongoing training programs based on staff needs, including supporting new systems and technology rollouts.
  • Create and maintain procedures: collaborate with IT, Member Services, and vendors to document and update internal procedures for products, services, and systems.
  • Support employee development: assess training needs, manage learning resources, and promote a culture of continuous learning to ensure exceptional member service.

POSITION: Residential Mortgage Loan Processor

LOCATION: On-site at the Main Office in Chicago, IL

SCHEDULE: Full Time

COMPENSATION: The budgeted amount for the starting hourly rate is $25.00 per hour

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Proficiency in using software such as databases, internet applications, spreadsheets, email, mortgage software, and Word processing
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid proficiency in mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • A background in real estate and/or consumer lending
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Ukrainian
  • The ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the Loan Officer with requests and tasks needed to complete and process applications:
    • Verify and examine mortgage loan application information for accuracy and completeness
    • Order/coordinate and review information from third parties such as Appraisal, including the completion of the Appraisal Checklist, Title, Condo documents, Property insurance, and Verification of employment
    • Follow SFCU’s Mortgage Loan Policy guidelines
    • Communicating regularly with the Loan Officer and borrowers to ensure timely file completion and origination
    • Review the file for completeness prior to submission to underwriting

POSITION: Assistant Manager of the Delinquency Department (Collections)

LOCATION: On-site at the Main Office in Chicago, IL

SCHEDULE: Full Time

COMPENSATION: The budgeted amount for the starting hourly rate is $30 per hour

We are currently seeking an experienced Manager Assistant to join our Delinquency Department and support the Collections Manager in driving effective collection strategies, minimizing delinquency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. In this vital role, you will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the collections team, monitor delinquent accounts, and help maintain accurate reporting.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of collection experience in the financial institutions industry is required.
  • Strong knowledge of debt collection practices, legal regulations, and member service.
  • Excellent writing, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts effectively.
  • Familiarity with credit reporting and compliance standards.
  • English and Ukrainian are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage delinquent accounts.
  • Communicate with members to set up payment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with debt collection laws and credit union policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of collection activities.
  • Assist with legal actions as necessary, in line with regulatory requirements.

POSITION: Regional Manager

LOCATION: Minneapolis, MN

SCHEDULE: Full Time

COMPENSATION: The budgeted salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, with eligibility for monthly Member Service Representative and Mortgage incentive programs

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Manager to lead and grow our Minnesota region operations. This is a high-impact role for a motivated leader who can drive business development, strengthen community ties, ensure operational excellence, and inspire high-performing teams.

The Regional Manager will oversee the operations of all Minnesota branches, ensuring outstanding member service, compliance, and staff development. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator in both English and Ukrainian, with a background in financial services leadership, a commitment to professionalism, and the ability to foster growth through strategic planning and community outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support Minnesota branch teams to ensure outstanding member service.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies for membership and loan expansion.
  • Build strong community relationships and promote credit union services.
  • Oversee daily branch operations, compliance, and cash management.
  • Open and service all consumer and business accounts.
  • Assist members with a wide range of financial transactions, including member service issues, account maintenance, wire transfers, consumer loans, credit and debit card services, and other operational duties.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff; set performance goals and provide feedback.
  • Serve as a resource for complex member issues.
  • Act as a Mortgage Loan Originator.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • College degree or minimum 5 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services.
  • Previous experience in branch management or regional oversight.
  • Fluency in both English and Ukrainian.
  • Proficiency in Data Processing Platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to all regional branches and the Chicago Home Office.

POSITION: Universal Member Service Representative

LOCATION: Minneapolis, MN

SCHEDULE: Full Time

COMPENSATION: The budgeted amount for the starting hourly rate is $22 per hour, plus eligibility for a monthly incentive program

Selfreliance Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Universal Member Service Representative in our Minneapolis branch. If you're passionate about helping people and thrive in a customer-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will be the face of our credit union, assisting members with financial products and services, and helping them find solutions that best fit their needs. This position is eligible for our generous Incentive Program, offering additional earning potential based on performance.

  • Previous customer service and sales experience (banking experience strongly preferred).
