Selfreliance FCU sponsors Ukrainian Icon Symposium at Seton Hall
A symposium titled "The Ukrainian Icon: A Piece of Heaven on Earth" took place in Bethany Hall at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey on April 28, 2022. The symposium, organized by the Department of Catholic Studies, featured two distinguished scholars: Andriy Demyanchuk, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Stage Direction and Choreography, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukraine; iconographer extraordinaire and scholar of icons; and Borys Gudziak, Ph.D., Archbishop-Metropolitan of Philadelphia for Ukrainian Catholics in the United States, Head of the Department of External Church Relations, Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and President, Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv. Selfreliance FCU was a sponsor of the symposium.
It is noteworthy that Seton Hall University, a private Catholic university in New Jersey, chose to organize a symposium on Ukrainian icons.
